Description: The reduction heights (RHs) presented herein were derived using the methods described in the Reliable Levee Elevations Technical Memorandum (URS, September 2012) and an addendum to that Technical Memorandum that is currently under preparation. The revised RHs are based on analyses completed since September 2012, primarily as part of DWR's Urban and Non-Urban Levee Evaluation Projects (ULE/NULE); these analyses are considered interim and subject to change until the Geotechnical Evaluation Reports (GERs; ULE levees) and Geotechnical Overview Reports (GORs; NULE levees) are finalized. For other areas in the ULE/NULE footprint, new analyses have not yet been conducted. The RHs in these areas remain as previously reported for the purposes of this data set; planned additional analyses will likely change the understanding of the reliability of the levees in those areas. The derivation of a reliable levee height produces a height that represents that maximum levee height attributable to meeting DWR’s current criteria. It does not necessarily represent a height beyond which levee failure and flood consequences are likely to occur. Any delineated spatial inundation boundary associated with exceedance of the levee’s reliable height represents an area where levee design criteria can no longer be assured by DWR. Not meeting design criteria does not necessarily indicate a levee failure is imminent or likely. No warranty, either express or implied, is made in the furnishing of this data set. URS makes no warranty that actual encountered site and subsurface conditions will exactly conform to the conditions used for analyses, nor that the interpretations and recommendations will be sufficient for construction planning aspects of the work. URS does not attest to the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of maps, data sources, geotechnical borings and other subsurface data produced by others that were used as the basis for these analyses. URS has not performed independent validation or verification of data reported by others.Data used for the geotechncial analyses are time-sensitive in that they apply only to locations and conditions that were identified at the time of data collection. Data should not be applied to any other projects in or near the area of this study nor should they be applied at a future time without appropriate verification, at which point the one verifying the data takes on the responsibility for it and any liability for its use. This data set is for the use and benefit of DWR. Use by any other party is at their own discretion and risk.
