Layer: CVFPP 2027 Urban Communities (ID: 0)

Name: CVFPP 2027 Urban Communities

Display Field: CVFPP_Label

Type: Feature Layer

Geometry Type: esriGeometryPolygon

Description: Extracted from ESRI Living Atlas Urban Areas dataset.  The original polygons were modified to account for CVFPP 2027 urban community definitions and naming.  Yuba City was split along the Feather River to distinguish Marysville from Yuba City.  Natomas, RD 17 and West Sacramento were not explicitly represented in ESRI source data.  For these areas DWR Reclamation District  Boundaries (v12) were used.  These overlapped with their respective urban areas so Reclamation District boundaries superseded ESRI in overlapping areas.  In all cases, CVFPP_Label field indicates the correct CVFPP 2027 name for the urban community. From CVFPP 2027:  Within the Central Valley, urban communities are developed areas with populations greater than 10,000 residents. Flood risk reduction efforts for these communities target a 200-year level of flood protection (0.5% annual chance of flooding), consistent with California Senate Bill 5 (SB 5).
