Description: This data set represents the watershed boundaries that pertain to the monthly full natural stations recorded on the California Data Exchange Center (CDEC). The purpose of this dataset is to define the contributing area for each monthly full natural flow station. This data set was produced in 2024 by the California Cooperative Snow Survey Unit within the California Department of Water Resources; any questions regarding the data set may be directed to members of this section. All watershed boundaries were generated in ArcGIS Pro watershed delineation toolbox using USGS 1/3 arc second elevation dataset. The approximate resolution of DEM used is 10 meters or 32 feet. ArcGIS Pro version 3.2.0 was used for terrain processing to delineate the watersheds. The general project area is the state of California. There are two delineated areas excluded from specific watersheds and one non-delineated area included in a specific watershed. (1) For Klamath River at Orleans (KLA), the full natural flow (FNF) is calculated between Orleans and Copco. So, the contributing area upstream of USGS Gage (ID 11511400) upstream of Copco Lake has been subtracted. (2) For Truckee River at Farad (TRF), the FNF does not include anything above the outlet at Lake Tahoe (TKT). So, the contributing area upstream of CDEC station TKT has been subtracted. (3) For Pit River at Shasta Lake (PSH), the FNF is historically calculated including natural flow from Sulanharas Creek which does not directly flow into Pit River. The delineation for PSH includes this section of Sulanharas Creek.
